XenServer 6.1.0 Installation

Prerequisites

> AMD / Intel 64 Bit Dual core and above Processor with VT Enabled
> 4 GB Minimum RAM to deploy 2 Virtual Machines with 1 GB RAM each.
> Shared ( SAN / iSCSI / NFS / Object Storage ) recommended for redundancy.



Installation Steps

> Boot server from XenServer 6.1 DVD / .iso file. Following screen will display once installation start. Press Enter to continue.



> In Select keymap window use default and press Ok to continue.


> In Welcome to XenServer Setup window press Ok to continue.


> In End User License Agreement window press Accepth EULA to continue.


> If XenServer try to install on Virtual Machine than you will get the following screen. Press Ok to continue.


> Select default Local Storage to install XenServer and Enable thin provisioning  option to optimized space. Press Ok to continue.


> Select Local media installation source for DVD installation and press Ok to continue.


> In Supplemental Packs window press No to continue.


> Select Skip verification option and click Ok to continue.


> Set root Password and click Ok to continue.


> Select Static configuration: and put IP Address / Subnet mask / Gateway. to XenServer and click Ok to continue.


> Define Server Hostname and DNS Server IPs than click Ok to continue.


> Select Time Zone ( geographical area ) and click Ok to continue.


> Select city and click Ok to continue.


> If NTP server is present in the network than select Using NTP option otherwise select Manual time entry option and click Ok to continue.


> In Confirm Installation windows click Install XenServer to continue.


> Installation start now.


> Set Date and Time and click Ok to continue.


> Press Ok to reboot the server.


> Server start rebooting.


> Once XenServer is up you and will get the following screen.
